My Arrangements

Arrangements

If I can find it in midi format, I can arrange it.  [I'm still working on parsing and sequencing by ear, it's not out of the question.]  I've got a handful of arrangements for band - whether full, partial, or pep - and a good bunch for low brass.  I take requests, and I can produce for whatever particular instrument[s] you like.  In the meantime, here's what I've got:

Rearrangements

Sometimes the need arises to take a piece I wrote and change it up a little bit.  Enhancements, arrangements for alternative ensembles, and submissions to formal competitions each require tweaking, or in some cases total facelifts.  I've got a folder here of varying re-makes of my own pieces.  Now, there are a couple times that I've amped up a piece just because I wanted to see if I could make it better, for no outside purpose and without changing its fundamental character.  [See Quiet Reflection Renewed and Backbeat v-2.]  In these cases, I've kept those songs in the same folder as the rest of my originals, rather than in the rearranged section.

Comments

So far, the only arrangement that I worked up from scratch [rather than starting from a midi found online] is Such Great Heights, for seven trombones.

The primary .nwc files for many songs have been broken down into individual .nwc files for each staff, for the sake of printing out parts to read from.

The labels on song files - tags such as "arrg", "x", "source", etc. - aren't standardized, at least not yet.  But since there should be no more than two versions of any particular file, it's not a big deal.

In the rearranged section:

-Reflections 2006 and Threshold were competitions to which I submitted some works, but I did a good deal of fixing-up to get the pieces from their original versions to something more formal and professional.

-Mario was a little bit of background music for an OM play, whipped up by cutting and reassigning parts.

-Piano Template, The Price Is Rite, and Trombone Chorus were arranged for low brass, Fairweather was arranged for pep band, and Mike Gold's solo was arranged for one bass clarinet.
